Desiccant Dehumidifiers
The DD122FW-MK3 is not a normal dehumidifier. Instead of using a compressor it uses a desiccant wheel to dry the air. This has several advantages. Please note there is nothing to replenish or replace with an absorption dehumidifier

Consistent water removal from the air
Whatever the temperature the DD122FW-MK3 will remove 7 litres of water per day. Whether you put it in your cold garage or your warm house the dehumidifier will extract exactly the same amount of water. The DD122FW extraction rate is equivalent to a 20 litre compressor dehumidifier in the house and a considerably larger, industrial, machine in the garage

Heat
The air coming out of the DD122FW-MK3 will be about 10 to 12 deg C warmer than the air that goes into it but. Very useful for drying washing and warming smaller cold areas of the house. Though please do not consider this dehumidifier as a replacement for a heater.

Weight
The lack of a compressor makes the DD122FW-MK3 about half as heavy as a normal dehumidifier.

Noise
The lack of a compressor means that the DD122FW-MK3 is quieter on low fan speed than a traditional refrigerated dehumidifier. Great in a flat. The only sound you will hear is the sound of air movement

Power
As is the case with all desiccant machines the running wattage of the DD122FW-MK3 is higher than that of a compressor based machine. But one has to take into account the fact that desiccant machines get the job done faster and are therefore on for less time. The end result in terms of consumption is very similar.

Important Information: Ensuring adequate air movement improves effectiveness of the DD122FW dehumidifier, for this we recommend the use of portable fans particularly for confined spaces e.g. cellars and small rooms.
